This Privacy Policy explains how Carté (“Carté”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects the personal information of anyone who visits or buys from carteskin.com.

1. WHO WE ARE

Carté is a skincare brand operated by Carte Vie Limited, registered in Nigeria under RC number 9436336, with a registered address at Suite 18 Shalom Plaza, Joseph Gomwalk Street, Gudu, Abuja. For any privacy question, contact info@carteskin.com.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

  • Identity & contact — full name, email, phone number, delivery address (collected at account creation and checkout)
  • Order data — products purchased, order value, order history (every purchase)
  • Payment data — card/transfer reference, tokenised; Carté never stores your full card number (checkout, via our payment processor)
  • Device & usage — IP address, browser type, pages viewed, cookies (every site visit)
  • Marketing preferences — newsletter opt-in/out, SMS/WhatsApp consent (sign-up forms, checkout)

3. HOW WE USE IT

  • To process, pack, and deliver orders, and to contact you about them.
  • To handle returns, refunds, and customer-service queries.
  • To send order confirmations and, where you’ve opted in, marketing about new products or offers.
  • To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and payment disputes.
  • To improve the site — what people search for, which pages convert, where checkout breaks down.

4. PAYMENT PROCESSING

Card and bank-transfer payments are handled by Paystack. Carté does not receive or store your full card number, CVV, or online-banking password — the processor handles these directly under its own PCI-DSS obligations.

5. COOKIES

carteskin.com uses cookies to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and understand site traffic via Google Analytics. If you arrive through a Carté ambassador’s personal link, we also store a cookie for up to 30 days that records which ambassador referred you. You can disable non-essential cookies in your browser settings; doing so may affect cart and checkout functionality. See our Cookies Policy for more detail.

6. SHARING YOUR INFORMATION

We share personal data only with parties who need it to fulfil your order or run the business:

  • Payment processors, to complete transactions.
  • Courier and logistics partners, to deliver your order.
  • Email/SMS providers, to send receipts and — with consent — marketing.
  • The Carté ambassador who referred you, limited to your name, contact details and delivery details where you chose campus pickup, so they can hand over your order.
  • Regulators or law enforcement, only where legally required.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

7. DATA RETENTION

Order and transaction records are kept for 3 years to meet Nigerian tax and consumer-protection record-keeping requirements. Marketing data is kept until you unsubscribe or request deletion.

8. YOUR RIGHTS

Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you can ask us to: access the personal data we hold on you; correct inaccurate data; delete your data (subject to legal retention duties); or withdraw marketing consent at any time. Email info@carteskin.com to exercise any of these.

9. CHILDREN

carteskin.com is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this policy as the business or the law changes. The “Last Updated” date above always reflects the latest version.
